Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO)

VLAIO is the Flemish governmental Innovation Agency coordinating the project. VLAIO created, in 2008, as one of the first a Knowledge Centre on Procurement of Innovation, and  developed a sound methodology for Pre-commercial procurement validated by the European Commission. VLAIO helps Flemish companies and research centres in realizing their research and development projects. VLAIO offers them financial funding, advice and a network of potential partners in Flanders and abroad. VLAIO also supports the Flemish Government in its innovation policy.  VLAIO is also involved in European innovation-related-networks.



Federal Public Service Internal Affairs

Logo Ibz The Federal Public Service Internal Affairs (IBZ) is the Belgian Ministry of the Interior and is active in civil security and crisis management among others. For years, IBZ purchases the fire fighting clothing and the personal protective equipment for the 18.000 Belgian firefighters. The ministry will represent the Belgian firefighters and first responders. It has committed to invest in the PCP phase as well as purchasing the final product.                              

Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority (GMFRS)

Logo GMFRS The GMFRS have a legal responsibility to ensure that an effective fire and rescue service is provided across the city region. Their primary duties are the provision, training and equipping of the Service. The GMFRS will have an expert’s role regarding personal protective equipment and firefighting activities. Nederlands Instituut Fysieke Veiligheid (IFV)

The LFR (National Disaster Response Agency) supports Fire service, Police and Medical rescue organizations in the preparation and the combat of large-scale incidents, disasters and crisis situations on regional level. Its role in the project is to formulate solutions for operational practice, with the aim to ensure both the safety of citizens and first responders by the cooperation between the different organizations.

Service Départementale d’Incendie et de Secours des Bouches du Rhône (SDIS 13)

Logo Sdis 13 SDIS 13 is a fire department in charge of organizing the emergency response in all risk domains and manage the prevention. Their expertise will be used to focus on user specifications, trial and exercises design and organization. Logo Innova INNOVA Észak-Alföld Regional Development and Innovation Agency has been operating since 2005. The mission of the agency is to become the sole innovation center in the Észak-Alföld region operating in a networking model and to achieve acknowledgement at national and international level. INNOVA will help the work of the partnership by presenting its experience on PCP and by its abilities on organizing events. It will also represent the Hungarian firefighters and first responders and disseminate all project related info in Hungary.

 City of Dortmund (FDDO)

Hauke Speth
Dortmund NEW  The Fire Department of Dortmund is responsible for fire fighting, rescue and emergency management in an area of 281 km². 700 professionals run 9 fire stations. Since 2001 the fire brigade has been participating in a major collaborative EU research project on tunnel fires. The FDDO will represent the German firefighters and first responders and will disseminate all project related info in Germany. Hauke -Speth 

European Apparel and Textile Confederation (EURATEX)

It specifically promotes, supports and facilitates research, development and innovation activities of the textile/clothing industry at European level. It acts as a relay between research policy and industry in informing its members about opportunities in European research programmes and advising European research policy makers about industry needs and priorities. Centexbel (CTB)

Logo Centexbel CTB is the scientific and technical centre for the Belgian Textile industry. It offers a complete range of standardized testing, is a notified body for protective clothing and can deliver CE marketing and testing. The CTB will play a key role in the assessment of the proposed solutions. These solutions have to fulfill the specific PPE requirements. Ghent University (UGent)

Logo Ugent UGent-Tex (department of textiles) is responsible for research, education and industrial support in the area of textiles. The department is one of the pioneers on smart textiles. Their research concentrates on textile structures based on conductive materials as well as on smart dyes.
